Yep, it's by design. This afternoon I enjoyed a nice little snack of a variety of nuts and seeds. A few almonds, sunflower seeds, peanuts, some sesame.
You get to eat every 2-1/2 to 3 hours with the Mike Thayer Carb-Check Diet, the key is smaller portions. Your body isn't really designed for what we've been trained to do, that is eating three BIG meals a day. It's not really very good at breaking down huge platefuls of food all at once. So to maximize how your body burns fuel, eat smaller portions spaced out through the day.
With the nut and seed snack, I'm getting valuable protein, an assortment of vitamins, magnesium and even some calcium! The almonds I ate even help regulate cholesterol.
